The Public Education Foundation (PEF) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing life-changing scholarships to young people in public education.

The Foundation works in collaboration with schools, communities, business and government to support students to achieve their full potential at public schools, while enhancing the value and reputation of public school education.

PEF doesn’t exist to do the job of government and fund core subjects, but to support students with particular educational needs. We focus on removing the barriers to achievement created by social and economic disadvantage or discrimination, and on helping particularly talented students to excel.

We operate from a simple principle that there many young people in public education who could achieve more in a whole range of fields if they were given just a little help; and there are just as many people who would like to help but don’t know how.  Our job is to bring them together.

Investing in future generations

Education has the power to change lives.  Helping young people in public education is one of the best investments society can make.

Our scholarship programs are only limited by the donations we receive. Donations can fund scholarships in the areas of literacy, numeracy, sport, technology, the arts, the environment, equity for the disadvantaged or a particular talent.

Public Education Foundation scholarships are:

The Foundation ensures that more than 90% of all money donated goes directly to scholarships.
