Scholarships
Overview
The Public Education Foundation was established to work collaboratively with schools, communities, business and government to help students achieve their full potential while enhancing the value and reputation of public school education.
We do this by providing life-changing scholarships for students, their families and teachers, and by encouraging research in the field of education.
The types of scholarships we provide are constantly evolving to meet the needs of students and donors. They are not just about financial payments, focussing instead on the different kinds of support and encouragement that individual students need. The most important thing is that our programs are evidence-based, effective and sustainable.
How to apply
Each new scholarship will be advertised on the PEF website, in our newsletter and advice sent to qualifying schools. There are different qualifications for each scholarship. The full selection criteria, supporting information requirements, application form and deadline information will be downloadable from the website at the time each scholarship is advertised.
How are scholarships awarded?
A selection committee is established for each scholarship with representatives of the PEF board and invited external experts where necessary. They will review all applications against the selection criteria and make a recommendation to the PEF board for final approval.
