23 February 2016:

Recently, many of us have read or heard about the Safe Schools Coalition.

In their own words, they are ‘… a national coalition of organisations and schools working together to create safe and inclusive school environments for same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse students, staff and families.’

No school is obliged to support the coalition, or to co-operate with it.

Instead, schools can choose to seek advice, support or training from the coalition in order to allow every student in their school, regardless of sexual orientation, a safe place to learn.

The Federal Government has today announced a review of the Safe Schools Coalition.

The Public Education Foundation rejects any need for such a review; all the material produced by Safe Schools is explicitly aimed at making schools safer.

Ultimately, Australians can make up their own mind; all the Safe Schools Coalition resources can be found here:

No child should have to fear going to school.

Not Today.

Not Tomorrow.

Not. Ever.
