In recognition of outstanding teaching and learning in NSW Public Schools, the NSW Department of Education and the Public Education Foundation presented the Minister’s and Secretary’s Awards for Excellence on September 20, 2016.
NSW Minister of Education, The Hon Adrian Piccoli, and Mr Mark Scott, Secretary, Department of Education, recognised over 35 students, schools, teachers, staff and parents from across NSW with the following awards:
• Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Achievement
• Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
• Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service
• Secretary’s Award for an Outstanding School Initiative
• Secretary’s School Achievement Award
• Public School Parent of the Year
‘It gives the Public Education Foundation great pleasure to reward those who have worked so hard and contributed so much to our public schools,’ Michelle Stanhope from the Public Education Foundation said. ‘These awards are a tribute to the talents, expertise, dedication and tireless commitment to excellence that can be found across the breadth of NSW public schools.’
